New Video's

Nomad was able to get a couple of video's recorded to replace some of the older video's #1 and #2. He covers widow placement in station, then in space.

So, if your having any issues with what goes where, you can watch them from the website's Video section, or on YouTube.

Database corruption

Well this isn't starting our relationship with iPage very well.  The forum database got corrupted and had to be restored from an archive done a few hours ago.  If you posted a message and don't see it now, please repost it.

Sorry.

EVE Crucible Expansion

With the EVE Crucible Expansion, we were ready, but once they deployed it, we found they had changed the font, yet again and we spent the day getting the mask up-to-date. So, I will be testing it tonight. Should everything work well, I'll post it in the morning.

Make sure that you are subscribed to the update thread on the forum, so you can receive an email when I post the new build for the EVE Crucible Expansion.

UPDATE:

We found a few errors in how it's running, so hopefully Nomad will be able to get it straightened out this evening when he gets off work. Will keep you posted.

UPDATE 2: Nov 30th 1330hrs

Had to do some recoding, am testing the new release candidate... will have a better idea in a few hours, if this candidate runs, I'll be posting it this evening.

UPDATE 3: Dec. 1st 1153hrs

Posted a better release. Please read todays notes, as well as yesterdays. They both apply.

Many client changes

The latest expansion made a multitude (a plethora, even) of changes all over the UI.  New fonts everywhere, location changes, text changes, and a lot of other things I am sure I probably missed.

However, as far as mining goes, I have been running fine for more than a day now.  If you are experiencing a lot of problems, download these 2 files:

http://www.cncmining.com/GMSupport/GM6/GSDefault.xml

Put it in your pilots Preferences folder (i.e., My Documents\CnCMining\GhostSuite\[Pilot Name]\Preferences\CruciblePrefs.xml) and load it.

There is an entirely new OCR mapping file too:

http://www.cncmining.com/GMSupport/GM6/NewOCRMasks.xml

This file needs to go to My Documents\CnCMining\GhostSuite\NewOCRMasks.xml

As far as the core program itself, I have had to add several attempts to overcome some client bugs introduced by CCP.  You may have noticed that Window Identification doesn't work until after a session change.  Windows occasionally move along with the item you are dragging, the Pin Windows option is gone, and several other things that hopefully CCP will fix soon.  Until they do though, the program will just have to try various work-arounds.  Updates will be posted as soon as solutions are identified and implemented.

EVE Incarna release June 21st

We have uploaded the new build of GhostMiner, GS 1.3.1.52 which will get you back out and  mining. Please read the release notes for what you need to check.

License Issues

Because of the ongoing issues with our users getting an error when GS tries to verify their license and/or access the web-page, we have come to the conclusion that we have to change web-hosts. So, we have acquired a new account with another provider and will be migrating the website and all services to the new host ASAP.

We apologize for all of the inconviences that our current provider has caused.

New Article Section:

We've added a new article section for our members. On the left side of the screen after you log-in, under EVE Articles, (located under the log-in panel) you'll find a link where you can submit an article for publishing, in the EVE Articles section.
The EVE Articles section is for stories of your pilots, that you would like to share with other users. However, as always, since it is a website that is monitored by CCP, be careful about System Names and Pilot Names.
They can be stories about your adventures as an Indy Pilot, or even your PVP Pilot.

CRITICAL SECURITY UPDATE

All users are encouraged to update to the latest build 1.3.1.49 which addresses a security problem pointed out by Slav2.

Please see http://cncmining.com/Announcements/GhostSuite-Updates/Page-13.html for additional details.

Convo Reject Option

While fine-tuning the preferences today, I discovered that there is a bug in EVE. The window that opens for a chat request from unknown pilots floats around. So, everyone needs to go back into your EVE preferences and set your Auto Reject back to being active (under the Audio and Chat Tab), if it's not. It's being commented out of GS Preferences and the program, until EVE gets it fixed.

Mr. C's responce to everyone's problems since the Patch.

The Setup Guide was followed by Mr. C to the letter and the current Default Config was fine-tuned to the placement of the windows as directed in the Guide. You can open the Guide and follow the same steps by downloading and installing the current build.

Mr. C will be recording new Video's that follow this guide to the 'T' and getting them uploaded as quickly as they can be edited and compiled.

For those of you who are having problems, we highly recommend that you delete your older preferences, follow the Setup Guide and utilize the new Default Config file. Don't forget to utilize the OCR Tool to fine-tune the OCR locations. By doing this, it should resolve pretty much all of the little hang-ups that a few of you are experiencing.

Don't forget to go to File/Load Prefs/Create Default Config... then open your pilots preferences and load the new Default Config, because if you don't go into prefs and load it, the old prefs are kept.

Edit:

I use a VM linked clone to run my miners on. The Primary Image, is just the OS and EVE. I keep both up-to-date. Yesterday, i tride to get a previous clone back up and running. For un-known reasons, a perfect working image started to fail. I couldn't get the OCR to recognize the system name. I did everything. Deleted the folder in my documents, re-installed GS and downloaded everything..... but all to no avail. I waisted at least 10 hrs. Anyone that's been in ventrilo, knows me and how  well I know how to fix things...

So I decided fuc... it. I deleted the linked clones, opened my primary image, updates the OS and EVE and started completely fresh. My miner was out and runnin in about 10 minutes. I hadn't read the setup pdf all the way through before, so I went through it step-by-step and then went through and adjusted the newly downloaded default config for my pilot skills and ship. I let her rip and had to stop it in the belt, because I"d forgotten to adjust the overview for the type of roid I wanted it to mine. I docked it back up, made the last adjustment to the config and cut her lose again.

I then went to dinner with my son. came back and all is well. The program is back to mining like it did before the updates to EVE before I started moving. I'm writing this here, because I'm afraid to look at the forums, because I know that it's going to be full of 'it's not doing this' or 'it won't do that'.... I'm here to tell you that 'if' you start with a clean slate. Follow the PDF after you install GS, then adjust your newly created and loaded Default Config... the numbers in it are correct and it'll run. Just like it did before.

Yes, I know it's a pain in the As__ to start with a clean slate. But it works. Everyone needs to remember that this type of program is like a woman. She don't like old stuff. (old configs) She wants new stuff, where everything is set correctly and not adapted from the old stuff. So start with a clean slate and get her a new pair of shoes and see if she doesn't get out and make you some isk....

2nd Edit:

OK, for those of you who don't know to do so, you need to utilize the OCR Tool, the verify and fine-tune your OCR settings, to make sure everything is being read correctly. This should be done after every setup.
